De larven zijn plantenetend, enkele minerend op bladeren. Vooral de plantenetende soorten (Delia sp.) kunnen schade veroorzaken in de landbouw (uien,bonen, enz.) De adulten zijn bloembezoekers, maar zijn ook vaak te vinden bij wondvocht van bomen, mest,kadavers,rottende planten, enz. |
The larvae of many genera are phytophagous, some of which are leaf miners. Phytophagous species can be of economic importance, like various species of Delia causing damage to onions, beans, etc. The adults visit flowers but can be found on exuding tree sap and on dung,carrion,rotting plants, etc. |
